Typos, typos, and more tyops...
Get it? Heh.
I've gotten a lot of positive feedback about the game so far in terms of functionality and enjoyment, and I'm mainly trying to clean up typos and other small text issues. In general, this stuff is very hard for me to see when running through the game by myself (for the 100th time) and everything tends to bleed together. I also tend to edit dialog after I've added it to the game, which makes using external language editing tools limited in effectiveness. So sorry if muh riting isent gud. I will keep trying to find and fix.
Unfortunately RPG Maker doesn't have a great system for cleaning up minor text issues. There are localization-oriented plugins which can be used to export the game text, but it doesn't distinguish between dialog text vs markup code. Perhaps in the future I can hire a proofreader to sift through the exported game text and clean up text issues, but this approach also comes with risks. Most writers are not coders, and if the writer were to mess up the markup code then that would create the problem of importing the (fixed) text back into the engine. Is it practical? If I work on another game and typos are a consistent pain point then I could try it.
If you are a game developer, how do you approach cleaning up typos and small text issues in your project?
