Paladin Dream expanded game

Paladin Dream is excited about offering FREE new content for the game at the end of August. The update includes a pagan / nature-themed dungeon with new enemies, items, a mini-game, and a bit of story. It also features new achievements and new music.

Several publishers I spoke with mentioned that they focus on post-release content updates as part of their publishing strategy. Since Paladin Dream has been gradually expanding from a minimum viable product, I’ve been generally comfortable with this idea. As a creator, I frequently think about what else would be fun to add to the game world, what stories could be told, and how to communicate the game’s themes more clearly.

One of the main ideas in Paladin Dream is the interaction between religions. The story mostly focuses on the conflict between the paladin religion and the demon religion, but there is also a third religion, which is the nature religion. The nature religion is presented as neutral, but generally not explored much in the game. So this update allows the player to enter a nature / pagan theme dungeon concentrating on this religion with expanded content.

The nature religion is generally ancient and a bit secretive, so the entrance to this dungeon is a little difficult to locate. You’ll need to have found a certain symbol of this religion, and then there is a new area with a book that details the whereabouts of the temple. Once you obtain this item and find a certain landmark on a map, you’ll be able to go inside the Temple of the Wilds.

One path inside the temple takes you to an optional boss battle. You might find that certain weapons or spells are not effective against this enemy, and have to figure out what type of attack will deal damage. (Hint: The paladin and demon religions don’t like each other, the nature religion is neutral.) When you win, you’ll unlock a unique armor, and learn more about the spirits of the old world.

Also in this dungeon is a meadow where you’ll have to catch a frantic, fast-moving fairy. It’s not easy, but with a bit of patience and luck, a new item to boost your magic stats will be your reward. Don’t forget to read the inscription on the statue to learn more about another character you’ve met earlier.
